Poll: Oil's Destination
On October 17th, we posed the question: Where will crude oil finish by year's end? With over 400 responses since then, we've decided to present the results of our poll.
With oil closing yesterday at $58.78, which is around the level at which it traded during the first few days of our poll, our respondents appear to be somewhat bullish on the commodity. Only about 25% of those polled predicted oil to finish 2006 below its current level (or below $56), while almost 62% see oil above $60 at year's end. About 14% see oil finishing the year near its current level ($56-$60), and the most popular single answer was that oil would jump slightly to the $60-$64 range (about 21% of you selected this).
Thank you to everyone who participated in this Birinyi Poll, and we hope you'll help us out by answering future questions.
