Consumer Staples Trading Down Off High
The consumer staples sector has traded down nicely after nearing its theoretical high last Friday. As mentioned in an earlier post, Birinyi Associates tracks the S&P 500 and its ten sectors on a daily basis. The theoretical high for consumer staples on 11/30 was 303.55, the 52-week high for the sector is 303.57. As shown below, this is the third time that the sector has peaked at its theoretical high.
