Over the last several days, the investment world has seen some interesting developments. Brian Hunter, the former gas trader from Amaranth, whose bets on natural gas went awry causing billions in losses, is reportedly having little trouble raising capital to start a new hedge fund. George Gilder, who lost his status as the de facto technology investment guru following the bear market of 2000-2002 also has a fund in the works. Finally, the Blackstone Group, which is a private company that specializes in taking public companies private, is itself going public (maybe they’ll do an LBO of themselves).
This leads us to this week’s poll question. Which investment do you think would probably work out the best over the next several years?
